[*] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide email gateway and related services.
- To provide for an on-premise email gateway for up to 6000 users to enhance security and to decrease IT administration. The email gateway is required to protect inbound and outbound email traffic from known and unknown malicious files
- Security of the defence forces network is paramount and for this reason the defence forces require an email security gateway which contains protection against zero-day threats and reputation filtering and that sources its security updates from a global network of spam and malware analysis centres
- The defence forces require an email gateway appliance which will cater for up to 6000 users. it must have the following capabilities; reporting, virus scanning, encryption and data leakage prevention capabilities, sandboxing for files hashes not previously seen, encryption for securing outbound emails if required.
- The email gateway must be compatible with on premise email server solutions.
- The Defence Forces requires an email gateway solution that will filter out malicious emails, spam attempts and a solution that allows sandboxing so that suspicious files may be run in a safe manner so as not to infect the on-premise environment.
- 1Outline the proposed solutions ability to collect and forward log reports to an external log collector and solutions.
- Outline the proposed solutions ability to quarantine and block email and what is the procedure to release the mails.
- The required solution needs to scan files against all conventional security checks (e.g., anti-malware signatures, bad URLs, etc.).
- The defence forces require the supply and installation of SSL certificates for the duration of the licences.
- The onsite support available to the defence forces
- Software or hardware maintenance on all products which form part of the proposed solution
- Length of warranty periods and associated costs
- Supply of applicable software upgrades
- The support categories and the call out time eg, 4hrs on site, (next business day) etc.
(2) The contract will be one year.
